Infractions & Sanctions

Conduct

The OSBA Code of Conduct can be reviewed on the OSBA Website Code of Conduct page.

Spectators, Players, and Coaches are expected to adhere to a certain standard of conduct when participating in activities under the auspices of the OSBA. Failure to do so could result in a fine or suspension.

Any spectators that are identifiable as OSBA players for other programs, or OBA Development League, or OBL players are subject to suspension equivalent to athletes participating in a game in the case engaging in any misconduct.

OSBA Discipline Overview

The OSBA Discipline Committee will not consider or respond to any request to overturn officiating calls that happened during the game, including technical fouls.

The committee will forward the information to the Assistant, Officials Development to be reviewed, documented, and discussed with the OSBA Game officials.

The OSBA Discipline Committee will review such incidents with the assistance of game recordings and additional discipline may be assigned. When a player or coach is ‘ejected’ from a game involving teams, the incident must be written up on the Referee’s Report Form and submitted to the OSBA Office.

The League Office shall request from team representatives, game referees, or game officials’ additional reports or information on any unusual occurrences (including pre- and post-game incidents) that reflect adversely on the sport and/or Association.

Failure of team representatives to deliver or facilitate the request will result in a $100.00 fine and possible disciplinary action toward representatives, referee, or game officials.

The coach will serve his/her suspension beginning with the next league or playoff game following the road trip.

  • Any suspensions that are unable to be fully served within the current season, will roll over into the following season. Rolled over suspensions will not be served during preseason/exhibition games. They will be served during regular season/play-off/final tournament games as needed.
