Final OSBA GOTW & Play-In Game: Playoff Spots on the Line

By Damien Lisi 02/25/2025, 12:15pm EST

The final OSBA Game of the Week (GOTW) schedule of the season features two key matchups in both the men's and women's divisions. The action kicks off on Tuesday, with Crestwood Prep facing Polaris Prep in a battle with crucial play-off implications. It concludes on Friday with a Women’s East and West play-in game in Oakville, with Bond Academy taking on King’s Christian Collegiate.

CRESTWOOD PREPARATORY COLLEGE VS POLARIS PREP

  • Tip-Off: Tuesday, February 25th at 3: 00 p.m EST
  • Location: The Playground Burlington in Burlington
  • Division: OSBA Men’s East and West Division

CRESTWOOD PREPARATORY COLLEGE

Crestwood Prep holds a 6–6 record and is ranked No. 2 in the East division. The team has taken two tough losses in a row, first losing to Royal Crown and then most recently Hodan Nalayeh. Despite the loss against Hodan, Crestwood still had some outstanding performances on offence. Mangok Lok Gach led all scorers with 32 points along with 14 rebounds. Guard Tshibola dropped 19 points in support, bringing his combined total over the last two games to 46. Both Crestwood (No. 2) and William Academy (No. 3) sit at 6-6 with one game remaining — a win or loss by either team could be the difference in the final East division standings heading into the play-offs.

ADDITIONAL PLAYERS TO WATCH:

  • Colton Crowdis: Averaging 2.3 steals per game (T-5th), registered 3 steals vs. Hodan Prep.
  • Ben Van Bulck: Averaging 1.5 blocks per game, tied for sixth in the league.

POLARIS PREP

Polaris Prep also enters the game with a 6–6 record, holding the No. 3 spot in the West after recently being overtaken by Hodan Prep in the standings. However, Polaris is riding a three- game winning streak and will present a tough challenge for Crestwood on offence, averaging 94 points per game over its last three contests. A key factor in Polaris’ recent success is its offensive depth. Any player can step up on a given night—over the last three games, seven players have ranked among the team's top three performers. Tyler Brown and Cyrus Hassan have combined for 69 points over the last two games, while guard Gurdeep Kalsi dropped 32 points in a win against Hodan Prep on the 18th. With such a deep rotation, Polaris is one of the toughest teams to defend in the West Division.

ADDITIONAL PLAYERS TO WATCH:

  • Kemar Grant: Leading the league in steals per game (3.3).
  • Fallon Dioum: Second in the league in rebounds per game (10.0).

Tuesday’s East & West Division clash features two teams looking to improve their play-off positioning. Can Crestwood secure the No. 2 spot in the East, or will Polaris reclaim No. 2 in the West from Hodan Prep?

WOMEN’S WEST PLAY-IN GAME: BOND ACADEMY VS KING’S CHRISTIAN

  • Tip-Off: Friday, February 28th at 3: 00p.m EST
  • Location: King’s Christian Academy in Oakville
  • Division: OSBA Women’s East and West Division

BOND ACADEMY

Bond Academy enters Friday’s play-in game with a 2–10 record, ranked No. 6 in the East. The team’s last win came on February 6, when it defeated Redmond 65–49. As the lower-seeded team, Bond will travel to Oakville for this crucial road matchup. A highlight of Bond Academy’s season has been the development of guard Aniya Lawrence. She currently ranks fifth in the league in rebounds per game (10.3) and third in steals per game (4.8). In a game against Capital Courts Academy on February 20, Lawrence recorded 11 points, four steals, and four rebounds. She will need another standout performance if Bond hopes to upset King’s Christian on its home court.

ADDITIONAL PLAYERS TO WATCH:

  • Jersey Waito: Bond’s second-leading scorer vs. J. Addison with 9 points (Feb 24).
  • Tatum Rankin: Had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks vs. Capital Courts Academy (Feb 20).

KING’S CHRISTIAN

King’s Christian enters the play-in game with an 8–4 record, ranked No. 3 in the West. The team has found its rhythm, winning three straight games since its loss to Crestwood Prep. King's offence has been on fire, averaging a 29.6-point margin of victory over that stretch. The team’s recent success has been fuelled by standout performances, particularly from guard Gabby Morash. She posted 30 points and 12 rebounds against Lo-Ellen and followed it up with 28 points and seven rebounds in the previous game against St. Jude’s. King’s Christian will look to survive and advance, aiming to secure a spot in the next round, where the winner will face the No. 2 seed in the East, Royal Crown.

ADDITIONAL PLAYERS TO WATCH:

  • Carletta Bennett: Dropped 24 points and 15 rebounds vs. St. Jude’s (Feb 11), ranked No. 5 on the MVP watch list.
  • Mikaela James: Led all scorers in win vs Lincoln Prep with 21 points, ranked second in the league in assists per game (5.3).

Friday’s game is a must-win matchup for both teams as they fight to keep their play-off hopes alive—it's win or go home. Can Bond Academy pull off the upset, or will King’s Christian extend its winning streak and advance to the next round?

These GOTW promise for intense matchups across both the Men’s and Women’s divisions as teams battle for play-off contention. Fans and supporters are encouraged to tune in to OSBA TV on YouTube to catch all the action live.
