Ontario Basketball Welcomes Farhan Baig as OSBA Officials’ Assignor
Ontario Basketball (OBA is thrilled to announce the appointment of Farhan Baig as OSBA Officials’ Assignor.
Farhan will be responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of the official’s panel for the sport of basketball within the OSBA. Also, ensuring the application of the FIBA rules are understood and enforced by the hired panel of officials, circulation of FIBA rule updates and points of emphasis to coaches, assign league games in accordance with quality of officials, considering travel distance and budget requirements, and participate in the evaluation of officials on the panel.
Farhan comes to the OBA & OSBA role with an extensive experience as an official with his career beginning in 2004 with the York Region Association of Basketball Officials and then with the Toronto Association of Basketball Officials in 2008. Since then, he has officiated multiple OFSAA (Two) , OCAA (Five), CCAA (Three) and USPORT (Three) championships.”
