3 POINTS

1.  Father John Redmond Basketball Academy is entering their inaugural season in the OSBA. The Redhawks are among five new members in the women’s division this year.

2. Head coach Lexie Sananes will lead the Redhawks in their first season in the OSBA. Sananes served as an assistant coach for the York University Women’s basketball team for six seasons and has provincial coaching experience with Team Ontario.

3. The newest member of the league is from Etobicoke, Ontario and excited for the opportunity to compete with the best players in the province.

WOMEN ON THE SPOT

Tamia Laborde-Sutton is a dynamic two-way player that has the ability to put pressure on her opponents on both ends of the court. Sutton brings a defensive intensity that the Redhawks will need to display on a regular basis to compete in the OSBA.

Nicole Chateau brings tremendous leadership, acting as an extension of the coaching staff when she is on the court. The 5'6" guard is a gritty player whose teammates feed off of her energy on the court.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Father John Redmond are entering their inaugural season and want to compete in every game with Ontario’s best teams in the OSBA. The Redhawks are excited to be part of the rapidly growing prep league and looking to build a solid foundation for the future of their program. The newest OSBA member may go through some growing pains with an entirely new staff and roster, but the team from Etobicoke is excited for the future among the best teams in the province.
