2018-19 OSBA TEAM PREVIEWS

3 POINTS

1.  This season Vaughan is focused on becoming one of the best defensive teams in the OSBA.

2. Vaughan might be one of the smallest teams in the league, but they are looking to play a “run-and-gun” style  to take advantage of their athleticism on the floor.

3. With one year of OSBA experience under their belt, Vaughan is looking to continue to grow as a program and compete for a playoff spot this season.

WOMEN ON THE SPOT

Tamiya Francis is the team captain, and brings lots of leadership on and off the floor. Despite only standing 5’5”, she has the ability to knock down shots, lock up defensively and control the tempo of the game. Look for Francis to be one of the key players in Vaughan's success in the upcoming season.

Tineya Hylton is an explosive guard with the ability to score, create for her teammates, and rebound. Hylton’s all-around skill-set makes her one of the elite guards in the league and will be one of the  players to watch this season.

BOTTOM LINE

Vaughan S.S. Prep suffered some growing pains in their inaugural season in the OSBA, but are looking to bounce back to show they belong with the elite teams in the province. Key players Francis and Hylton had big summers with their AAU programs, and will be instrumental in Vaughan’s success in the 2018-19 campaign. Look for Vaughan to compete for a playoff spot and be much improved in their second season in the OSBA.
