3. The Rebelles are looking to take the next step this season, and become a top-tier team in a very competitive women’s division.
WOMEN ON THE SPOT
Emma-Jane Scotten is a standout point guard with a solid stroke from three-point range and has the ability to finish around the basket in a variety of ways. Scotten can guard multiple positions and also provides leadership for the Rebelles.
Renée Paquette is forward with a relentless work ethic when she is on the floor. Paquette is known for her ability to run the court, soft hands around the rim and knack to rebound the ball.
BOTTOM LINE
Louis-Riel goes into the season with the mindset of improving on last year’s record, even though they lost senior players to graduation. The Rebelles know to become an elite team in the league they will need to practice with more purpose and play as a unit on both ends of the floor. Last season, the team from Ottawa earned eighth seed but fell to TRC Academy in the opening round of the playoffs. The Rebelles are looking to become a legitimate post-season contender and surprise a few teams in the 2018-19 season.
