TORONTO – Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) announces the renewal of official basketball supplier agreement with partners at Spalding until 2023. The partnership will make Spalding the official basketball of the OSBA beginning 2018-2019.

The new five-year sponsorship agreement ensures that Spalding basketballs will be used for Ontario Basketball programming including the Ontario Basketball League (OBL), Ontario Cup provincial championships, Ontario Summer Development Program camp (OSDP), community events, and now has expanded to include the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA).

Beginning in the 2018-2019 OSBA season the Spalding TF-1000 Legacy basketball will be recognized as the official ball of the high school prep league, helping to grow the league for elite high school basketball players.

“We’re thrilled with the renewed support and the new possibilities our agreement will give basketball players, coaches, and teams across the province,” said Jason Jansson, Ontario Basketball Executive Director. “Our partnership with Spalding has been invaluable over the years and I’m happy to see it continue while also expanding to reflect the growth of the game.”

“The OBA has been a key strategic partner in helping us become the category leader in basketball,” said Kevin Sookram, Marketing Manager at Spalding and Russell athletic. “We look forward to bringing new and exciting products to their members and working with their leadership team to grow the sport of basketball in Ontario”
