Battles for Bragging Rights: OSBA Games of the Week

The OSBA is bringing the heat this week with two must-see GOTW matchups featuring top-tier talent and high-stakes action. With division standings at stake and big performances guaranteed, these games are set to deliver the kind of excitement basketball fans love.

Battle for Second Place in the East

J. Addison vs. Capital Courts

Tip-Off: Friday, December 6, 3:00 p.m. EST
Location: J. Addison School

It is about to go down in the East Division as J. Addison (3-1, ranked No. 3) hosts the undefeated Capital Courts (4-0, ranked No. 2) this Friday. Both squads are chasing Royal Crown at the top of the standings, and this game could shake things up.

Capital Courts is rolling into this matchup with a perfect record and a roster packed with talent. Patricia Augustin and Alex-Anne Bessette bring serious firepower fresh off their silver-medal run with Team Canada at the U18 FIBA Americas. Throw in U17 World Cup silver medalist Jahda Denis, who does it all on the floor, and you have a squad built to win. Sierra Patricio adds depth on both ends, while Megan Hollingsworth and Rachael Okokoh lit it up for 31 points combined in their blowout win over Louis Riel earlier this week.

J. Addison is not backing down, though. They are coming off a solid 78-57 win over Bill Crothers, thanks to Abriel Grant-Caracas’ 12 points and some key buckets from Sienna Papanastasiou-Thomas. Ava Williams and Leah Almashni have been clutch all season, keeping J. Addison in the hunt for the top of the division.

This matchup has everything: two stacked teams, high stakes, and a lot to prove. Will Capital Courts keep their streak alive, or can J. Addison protect their home turf and pull off the upset?

Undefeated Showdown in the West

Crestwood Prep vs. St. Jude’s Academy

Tip-Off: Saturday, December 7, 2:00 p.m. EST
Location: Crestwood Preparatory College

It is the battle of the unbeaten as reigning champions Crestwood Prep (4-0, ranked No. 2) face off against St. Jude’s Academy (2-0, ranked No. 4) in a high-stakes West Division showdown. With playoff positioning on the line, this matchup is set to shape the balance of power in this tough division, as both teams aim to solidify their status as top contenders.

Crestwood Prep has continued its dominance under head coach Marlo Davis, even with key roster changes from last season’s championship team. The reigning champs are led by Avery Arije, a U17 Women’s National Team standout and FIBA World Cup silver medalist, who has seamlessly stepped into a leadership role. In their last game, Crestwood delivered a commanding 110-46 victory over Lo-Ellen Prep, with Julianna Rogers scoring 24 points and Marie-Grace Talle contributing 14. Their depth and firepower make them a formidable opponent.

St. Jude’s Academy comes into the matchup riding high after an impressive 90-75 upset over No. 1 King’s Christian. Chanté Murray, a U18 Women’s AmeriCup silver medalist, was star of the game, dropping 29 points to lead her team to victory. Murray is supported by teammates Simran Lail and Marley Hayle who also scored 25 and 22 points respectively, showcasing the team’s offensive balance and versatility.

With both teams entering the game unbeaten, the stakes could not be higher. Will Crestwood’s championship pedigree prevail, or can St. Jude’s continue their rise and shake up the division?

Both games are set to be an unforgettable match up!
