Basketball fans, get ready! This week’s OSBA Games of the Week bring the heat with exciting battles across all divisions. With talented players and key matchups on deck, these games are must-watch!
Full Circle vs. James Cardinal McGuigan
Tip-Off: Tuesday, November 26, 6:00 p.m. EST
Location: James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School
It is a showdown in the Trillium Division as Full Circle (5-1, ranked No. 3) takes on James Cardinal McGuigan (4-3, ranked No. 5).
Full Circle, led by Kenyon St. Louis, who has been on fire this season. The former 15U Boys MVP is dropping 25.3 points per game, shooting 44% from the field and an impressive 42% from deep. He has already put up 25, 30, and 21 points in his first three games and is sixth on the Synergy leaderboard. Supporting him are Isaiah Coscarella-Knight, who had 19 points in their recent win over Uchenna, and Joshua Luzayamo, who added 12 in that same game.
On the other side, James Cardinal McGuigan heads into this game riding high after a big win over CTA, fuelled by an impressive 31-point performance from Jaylen Livingstone. He has plenty of support, with Jesiah Acquah dropping 18 points and Rattan Mangat adding 14 in that matchup. With both teams hungry for a win, this game promises to be a hard-fought battle.
Orangeville Prep vs. Lincoln Prep
Tip-Off: Wednesday, November 27, 5:30 p.m. EST
Location: F.H. Sherman Recreation and Learning Centre
In the women’s division, Orangeville Prep (2-2, ranked No. 3 in the West) squares off against Lincoln Prep (0-2, ranked No. 6).
Orangeville, led by Ayla Corrigale, who is fresh off a gold-medal run with Team Ontario’s U17 squad. She put up solid numbers, averaging 8 points per game while shooting 44% from the field. Backing her up are Fiona Madigan, who scored 14 points against Essa Prep, and Lexee Anderson, who added 11 in the same game. Guard Katie Firth, coached by her father Greg Firth, brings leadership and hustle to this squad.
Lincoln Prep might not have a win yet, but they have talent to turn things around. Malia Passley, a U15 Team Ontario gold medallist, is a reliable two-way player, who averaged 6 points and 2 rebounds while shooting an efficient 50% from the field. Mag Claire Kome Epule had a strong 13-point showing against Crestwood, with Kendra Nuguid and Ariel Peters adding depth and experience to the roster.
This matchup is shaping up to be an interesting one. Orangeville is on the hunt for a top spot in the West, while Lincoln is hungry for their first win and ready to make some noise.
Royal Crown vs. William Academy
Tip-Off: Thursday, November 28, 7:00 p.m. EST
Location: Royal Crown School
The marquee game of the week features a big-time Eastern Division clash between Royal Crown (5-0, ranked No. 1) and William Academy (2-2, ranked No. 3).
Royal Crown is rolling with an undefeated record, and they have the firepower to back it up. Justus Haseley is a name to watch—he has been a leader all season and recently had a 12-point game to help secure a win against J. Addison. Haseley also showed his skills for Team Canada at the FIBA U18 Americas Championship, ranking fourth in assists while averaging 8.2 points per game. Adding to the mix is Kymani Walters, who is back after standout performances this summer with Team Ontario. Walters brings energy, defence, highlight-reel plays and is also coming into this game on fire after his 20-point performance in their recent J. Addison victory.
Although William Academy is not backing down. They have a stacked roster led by Efeosa Oliogu, a 6’6 four-star recruit with offers from top NCAA schools like Gonzaga and Alabama. Keoni Sacco, a 6’10 big man, brings size and recently earned an offer from Long Island University. Additionally, Deng Makeer and Program Imafidon are ready to step up and make an impact at any time.
This game has all the makings of a classic. With Royal Crown hoping to stay undefeated and William Academy looking to climb the standings, it is going to be an all-out battle.
