Toronto, ON — The Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) Game of the Week returns to action Tuesday afternoon as J. Addison School (3–1) welcomes Royal Crown School (0–0) for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff in Markham.
For J. Addison, it’s another chance to build on an already impressive start to the 2025–26 campaign. For Royal Crown, it marks the long-awaited season debut — and a chance to prove that early-season tournament success can translate to league play.
J. Addison in Form
The home side has found early rhythm under head coach Christopher Francis, winning three of their first four OSBA contests. After dropping a close 57–55 decision to Capital Courts Academy on October 24th, the Jaguars responded with convincing wins over Louis-Riel (77–64) and Redmond Basketball (89–46).
Leading the charge is Abriel Grant-Caracas, whose composure and scoring touch have anchored J. Addison’s offence, while Sienna Papanastasiou-Thomas — already committed to the University of Vermont — continues to impress with her two-way play and leadership on the floor. Together, they’ve formed one of the league’s most balanced one-two punches, combining steady defence with efficient scoring.
Royal Crown Enters Riding Tournament Momentum
While Tuesday marks Royal Crown School’s first official OSBA contest of the season, they arrive with confidence — and hardware. Royal Crown recently captured the Chris Smalling Tournament title at Ontario Tech University in Durham, showcasing their depth and competitiveness against strong provincial opposition.
Tournament MVP Chance Berry was the standout performer, delivering a dominant stat line in the championship game: 24 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Expect the dynamic guard to play a key role again, blending athleticism and poise in transition while setting the tone defensively.
What to Watch
Early Pace: J. Addison’s conditioning and chemistry could give them the edge early against a Royal Crown team still finding its rhythm in OSBA play.
Star Power: Papanastasiou-Thomas and Berry headline this matchup — both capable of taking over games at any moment.
Defensive Intensity: Both squads pride themselves on pressure defence and rebounding — the battle on the boards could prove decisive.
