The Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) men’s league is pleased to announce its expansion to include one additional team for the 2017-18 season.

RISE Prep, a second team run through TRC Academy in Brantford, has been accepted into the league.

This past season, RISE Prep competed in exhibition games and tournaments across Ontario and the United States.

Jeremie Kayeye, who coached both RISE Prep and the TRC Academy women’s team last season, will relinquish his role with the women’s team to focus on coaching RISE Prep in their first season in the OSBA.

"We at RISE Prep are very excited and appreciative of the opportunity that the OSBA has given us. We look forward to compete against some of the best prep teams in Canada," Kayeye commented.

RISE Prep joins TRC Academy and the other 10 returning programs: Athlete Institute Prep (Orangeville), Bill Crothers (Markham), Father Henry Carr (Toronto), King’s Christian Collegiate (Oakville), Lincoln Prep (Hamilton), Orangeville Prep, Ridley College (St. Catharines), Southwest Academy (London), Thornlea (Thornhill), and Vaughan.

The next season will kick off in Fall 2017.
